The Barbury
This robust Damson Vodka cocktail is delicious and strong. Named after the local stronghold at Barbury Castle, it commands considerable respect.
Ingredients:
- 1 part Wiltshire Liqueur Damson Liqueur
- 2 parts quality vodka
- 1 part dry vermouth
Method:
Stir all the ingredients together and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a twist of orange.
An Iron Age Fort
Barbury Castle is one of several Iron Age forts situated along the Ridgeway and commanding views across to the Cotswolds and River Severn. Whilst there is no longer a castle structure in place, the deep defensive ditches and earthworks provide clear evidence of its past.
