The Wiltshire Liqueur Roadshow is Back
With an ever-growing events schedule, let’s take a closer look at a memorable return for the Wiltshire Liqueur Roadshow.
The Roadshow Returns
In 2020, the Wiltshire Liqueur Roadshow was firmly on hold. We all stayed home and ordered our treats online. And the world of food and drink fairs temporarily closed its doors.
As we began to tentatively step out again during this year’s summer months, many events continued to hold fire as things still felt too cautious. But by autumn, confidence grew, and the Wiltshire Liqueur events diary started to fill up.
We must admit that we were a little nervous. With over 18 months out of the events game, we weren’t sure. Would we still enjoy the hustle and bustle of pre-covid days? Would liqueur lovers want to come along and buy our wares? After all, people realised how easy and stress-free online ordering is. Press a button, and before you know it, all your goodies magically arrive at your doorstep.
But we didn’t need to have worried. As we took our first steps out in September, we were delighted to see the welcome return of friendly shoppers. All smiling and chatting as they tasted our liqueur samples. And we realised quite how much we’d missed it.
Let’s take a closer look at the welcome return of the Wiltshire Liqueur Roadshow.
A Sell-Out Start at Thame Food Festival
First up was the Thame Food Festival at the end of September. Held on 2 days at The Thame Showground in Oxfordshire, this popular event has always been one of our favourites.
This impressive festival celebrates everything wonderful about food and drink. The Big Cookery Stage lights up with demonstrations from leading chefs. And as visitors meander between tempting artisan stalls and enticing street food stands, they revel in the fun-packed schedule of live music, dog shows and children’s activities.
And for us, Thame didn’t disappoint. With a sell-out first day, it was a good job we had the chance to go home and re-stock. Thank you to everyone who came along and stopped to say hello.
Julia in action at Witney Food Festival
Julia was in action in early October at the special Autumn Edition of the Witney Festival of Food, or WFOFAD as it has become fondly known. Housed in the majestic medieval church of St Mary’s, this charitable event draws crowds from far and wide.
Julia helped the hordes of liqueur lovers to leave smiling, especially as we had an early batch of our special Christmas Cream Liqueur on offer, which went down a treat.
Sadly, Tiffinie picked the short straw on this occasion, as she stayed back at HQ to clear the warehouse and make space for our main 2021 batch of Christmas Cream Liqueur. But someone had to do it, and the stock room shelves are now sparkling and heaving with festive goodies.
Naked Trading at the Ploughing Match
Another show that was sadly cancelled in 2020 was the ever-fun Ploughing match at Fishers Farm, Shefford Woodlands. But back in all its glory for 2021, vintage horse-pulled tractors worked alongside state-of-the-art machinery to enthral visitors with the joyful tradition of ploughing.
This event is always a weather testing event. Even a hint of Autumn rain means tractors plough the fields into formidable and troublesome pits of mud. Luckily for us, the rain stayed away. Unluckily though, the wind wasn’t on our side. Our gazebo did a Mary Poppins, leaving us trading naked.
And despite a rain-free day, the mud was certainly evident.
Plenty More Stops on The Wiltshire Liqueur Roadshow
